Excellent, freshly prepared food. Service is quick and friendly.

When you sit down they bring you fresh, hot rolls and butter.
So far I've had the chicken kiev and the steak kebab.
The chicken kiev actually tasted like chicken because it was freshly prepared, not frozen and reheated in an oven.
The steak kebab was difficult to finish and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The meat was tender, and not fatty.
When your meal is finished they bring you warm chocolate chip cookies with your bill.

Yes.....

It is everything I never thought it would be!!! I thought, order at one end of a counter, pick up on the other end of the counter and go home and eat. Oh no, not this place, walk in, sit down and order a meal you'll remember; from the Egg-Lemon-Chicken-Rice Soup to the Chocolate Chip Cookie you get with your check. YOU'LL BE TALKING ABOUT IT!

I had the Egg-Lemon-Chicken-Rice Soup for starters (came with bread, butter and crackers)

Lemon Chicken Panini sandwich with Cajun Fries! :) :) :) and Ice Water for a drink.

Happy, Happy, Happy up until I finished, I wasn't hungry anymore (Y B Hungry?), but I sure would have pushed it to the limit! All of this for UNDER $9.00.

I've driven by this place umteen times and only stopped in because I wanted to grab something quick and give it a try. I ended up dining by myself (which I don't like to do at all), but now I know I'll be back with the wife and kids very soon. I had a yong server that was very polite and cared about giving great customer service.

Ok. First, this is not your Denny's. Oh no. And that's a good thing because aren't we all a little tired of the Denny thing. I passed this place hundreds of times on 95th. The name, Y. B. Hungry got me thinkin' about trying it. So, I took my son who had just come home for the summer from boarding school. I ordered the navy bean soup. It was a cold June 1 day; about 59 degrees outside. Hot bean soup sounded cozy, manly and filling. It came in about 3 minutes. Along with this we we're served crackers, breadsticks and fresh baked rolls with butter in a bread basket. The bread was wonderful, fresh baked in the morning at the restaurant by the waitress's parents. Did I say this was a family shop? The waitress is actually the owner. The owner served us! She was delightful. She sat down next to us and took our orders. She also gabbed a bit. A pleasant smile accompanied. We felt at ease. The owner knows how to make you feel important even though we know we're not. Cool. The soup, a cup portion, was tomatoey which I didn't care for-at first. Sesame crackers made it better. I have to praise them for it though, I learned it was vegetarian bean soup and then I understood it. Framed as a veggie soup it was really good. My son and wife are vegetarian so I feel like I know a good veggie soup when I taste it. The owner said about 40% of the items on the menu are vegetarian, so heads up all you veg-heads. My son liked his house salad dressing--Italian. My salad was served cold and crunchy. The ranch dressing did not overwhelm it. The rice I ordered was really really tasty and I have to say a surprise. Fluffy, soft and seasoned jussst right with butter and chicken gravy. My son's cheesy ravioli was really cheesy and his garlic bread had a strong, yet not overwhelming garlic flavor. My order of Chicken Kiev was good. It SEEMED fresh not frozen--however I wondered, was it store bought? I don't eat it enough to know. The seating area is close quarters but it is super clean and easy listening 70's music adds to a relaxed atmosphere. The owner served us with dessert -- strawberry ice cream-- and we both got fresh made chocolate chip cookies which come with all meals. Yum. I recommend this place for wonderful service, fair cost and fresh food. Really if you are in  Oak Lawn try it. *By the way, the owner said the Y and the B in the name of the restaurant are the first initials of each of her parents names. Interesting.

What a great find, tucked away near Harlem on 95th Street. This is about the cutest little place you've ever seen, with a wonderful sandwich menu along with other excellent menu items. You will love any sandwich you order, and be sure to get the soup of the day too. Yum! The service couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Then they top it off with a complimentary warm chocolate chip cookie. Make the trip to this little gem, you will be a very happy customer!

excellent lunch at good price

cream of chicken soup was fantastic, really hit the spot on a cold day. turkey salad sandwhich was very good. some restaraunts use way too much mayo in their deli salads. the mixture at y b hungry was perfect.

finally, the waitress brought out fresh chocolate chip cookies for desert. they were hot and soft. had to eat them with a spoon.

Overall Excellent

My family had been talking about coming here for years and one night finally wound up here after getting long wait times at two other places. I wish we had come a long time ago! The menu had a wide range of choices encompassing several different styles of food, including American and Italian, as well as a kids menu. Our server, Pinar, was very attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal and the food we received was wonderful and fairly priced. Afterwords we received a plate of complimentary fresh baked chocolate cookies.When Pinar found out we were there for my daughters birthday, she gave her a free slice of cheesecake with strawberry syrup complete with a birthday candle and even sang to her. Overall Y.B. Hungary is an excellent restaurant for any person or family looking for a good selection of great tasting, moderately priced food with wonderful service.

Want great fast food and service too. Go and try Y B Hungry in Oak Lawn IL. I have been visiting this Restaurant for 3 years now and have never had a bad meal or service
